A Brief Profile of Jahanara Pervin
Jahanara Pervin is an Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and currently working as Executive Director, Jatio Mohila Sangstha. She was born in 10th April 1962 in Natore. She obtained B A and MSS in Government and politics from the Asian University of Bangladesh. A member of BCS Administration cadre, she joined the civil service in 1986. She started her career as a probationer in Rajshahi D.C office. Later on she served in various capacities such as Assistant Commissioner-Bogra, Upazilla Magistrate- Mymenshing Sader, Matropolitan Magistrate- Dhaka, UNO-Camilla Adarsha Sader Upazilla, D.D-NNFE Dhaka and Senior Assistant Secretary-Ministry of Jute and Textile. Before joining Jatio Mohila Sangstha Mrs Pervin served as Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture. Prior to that she was Director of Anti-Corruption Commission. She received intensive training on Law, Administration, land and Management from home and abroad. Among those a training course on “Criminal Justice Response to corruption” from Japan and a training course on “Hybrid Rice for Bangladesh” from China are most mentionable. She visited USA, UK, Japan, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and India. She is married and blessed with one son and one daughter.
